• Hispanic Heritage Festival

Centennial Avenue School celebrated its Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival on November 13, 2014. The festival began with a parade of students wearing native attire from different  Latin American countries.  Students had the opportunity to experience different aspects of Hispanic culture by visiting various stations in the gymnatorium. They learned to zumbaa, limbo, listened to live music played by parent volunteer Mr. Turcios, and sang songs from Latin America. Students also created pinatas, maracas, and Mexican bracelets at different art stations. Students were given the opportunity to sample "Cocina Latina," foods from Latin American countries.
