Washington Rose Mentoring Program

The Mentoring Program at Washington Rose Elementary School is lead by Ms. Joi Emmanuel.  Teachers and staff volunteer lunch time sessions and/ or afterschool sessions, to spend time mentoring a child from our school building.  Mentors and Mentees will spend quality time together, reading, playing games and talking.

On March 11, 2013 the Washington Rose Mentoring Program visited Barnum and Bailey Circus at Uniondale's Nassau Coliseum.  Mentors and their mentees, hopped in bused and went to see the show.

The children’s faces were full of laughter and smiles as they watched horses dance, dogs walk on two legs and elephants make a pyramid!  We also saw some daring acrobats fly through the air on trapeze.

We laughed, we danced, and we enjoyed each other’s company.
