  • Staff Vaccination/ COVID-19 Testing

    Pursuant to the Determination of the Commissioner of the Department of Health all staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or else be tested for COVID-19 once per week. In this regard, the Commissioner's Determination requires that all schools have the capacity to offer COVID-19 testing to teachers, students, and staff. Therefore, the Roosevelt Union Free School District has contracted with a testing company to administer weekly, on-site COVID-19 screening testing, each Thursday at the Roosevelt High School from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

  • Congratulations Dr. Emily Moore: 2021 Eastern Hall of Fame: Dr. Emily Moore

    Dr. Emily Moore is a Long Island-based educator and activist. In the 1970s, she founded the Alliance Junior Tennis Development Program which introduced the sport to thousands of local kids. Through her efforts, many of her children went on to compete in tournaments across the country as well as obtain tennis scholarships for college. A lot of these students may not have discovered the joys of the game were it not for Moore’s programming.

It has been far too quiet without students' joyous laughter and excitement ready to soak up the information they learn inside their classrooms.   • Face Covering Requirements 2021- 2022

    As the 2021-2022 school year quickly approaches, I am writing this letter to inform the community of the health and safety measures the Roosevelt Union Free School District will be implementing to keep our students and staff safe while also building upon the academic success of the previous year. The health and safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority and informs every decision we make. With this in mind, and in accordance with the most recent CDC guidance, the Roosevelt School District is requiring that all students and district personnel wear masks while indoors and outdoors on school grounds.

    Students granted an exemption are not required to pass such specific exam(s) to meet the assessment requirements for any diploma type (local, Regents, or Regents with advanced designation). Exemptions remain with students through their graduation or through exiting high school.

  • Lead Testing on School Drinking Water

    The Roosevelt Union Free School District is committed to protecting the health and well-being of our students, teachers and staff. In compliance with the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) regulation titled Lead Testing in School Drinking Water (10 NYCRR Subpart 67-4), we recently performed an updated inventory of all water outlets in the school district and another round of sampling of all applicable water outlets. Attached are the results and letters.
