    Out of an abundance of caution, Roosevelt High School will be closed to in-person instruction on Monday, March 1, 2021, for cleaning and disinfection. All after-school activities and the COVID-19 testing are canceled. All learning will be conducted virtually.   • Keisy Martinez of the High School has been selected to receive one of the Annual Ira Schwartz Scholarship

    The Board of LIASCD is pleased to announce that one of our students, Keisy Martinez, has been selected to receive one of the Annual Ira Schwartz Scholarships in the amount of $500. This award commemorates the former Associate of Commissioner of Education, Ira Schwartz.

We were notified that an individual at Roosevelt High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in their building today, February 10, 2021, and they will quarantine for the required ten days. The Department of Health will be notified, and contact tracing will begin. Out of an abundance of caution, Roosevelt High School will be closed to in-person instruction on Thursday, February 11, 2021, for cleaning and disinfection. All learning will be conducted virtually. All custodial, clerical, security, and administration should report. High School Basketball and Wrestling practice will be moved to Roosevelt Middle School for tomorrow Thursday, February 11, 2021.   • RUFSD Goes Remote on Monday, February 8th 2021

    Dear Roosevelt School District Family: Due to inclement weather (icy road conditions), the Roosevelt School District students and teaching faculty will have 100% Remote Learning on Monday, February 8, 2021. Grab and Go meals will be distributed from Centennial Elementary School and the Roosevelt High School between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Extended day activities are in session. All Administrators, Clerical, and Central Office are on a 2-hour delay. Security staff must report to work on time. Facilities staff will report at 3:00 a.m. -/- Estimada familia del Distrito Escolar de Roosevelt: Debido a las inclemencias del tiempo (condiciones de las carreteras heladas), los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar de Roosevelt y la facultad de enseñanza tendrán un 100% de aprendizaje remoto el lunes, 8 de febrero del 2021. Las comidas para llevar serán distribuidas desde la Escuela Primaria de Centennial y la Escuela Secundaria de Roosevelt entre las 11:00 a.m. y la 1:00 p.m. Las actividades de día extendido están en sesión. Todos los administradores, secretarias y oficinas centrales tienen un retraso de 2 horas para reportarse al trabajo. El personal de seguridad deben reportarse para trabajar a su hora debida.   • The Roosevelt Union Free School District reflects on Black History month and all it represents, we recognize the inspiration, it ignites in our students.

    Black History Month is an opportunity to educate our peers and fellow community members on the unparalleled contributions made by Black scientists, artists, writers, historians, leaders, and more. Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, a Black woman from North Carolina, will go down in history for leading the effort to solve the COVID-19 pandemic.

The individual was last in the building yesterday, January 11th, and they will quarantine for the required 10 days. The Department of Health has been notified, contact tracing was completed and it was determined that Roosevelt High School is safe to continue with in-person instruction for tomorrow January 22nd. El individuo fue el último en el edificio ayer y el 11 de enero, y se pondrá en cuarentena durante los 10 días requeridos.     The Roosevelt Union Free School District Administration and Board of Education unequivocally condemn the actions that occurred at the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., earlier this week. This act of domestic terrorism is a stain on our nation’s history and is a giant step backward in our collective mission to teach our young people to be good citizens with strong character.
