  • Device Return - 6/17/21

    Seniors will turn in their Chromebooks prior to graduation.  ALL iPads MUST be returned.   Students in grades 1 through 11 should keep their Chromebooks for the summer. Students are expected to return with the same Chromebook in August. Failure to do so may result in a fine.  Students in grades 1 through 11 not returning to RUFSD MUST return their device.

    Students granted an exemption are not required to pass such specific exam(s) to meet the assessment requirements for any diploma type (local, Regents, or Regents with advanced designation). Exemptions remain with students through their graduation or through exiting high school.

  • Lead Testing on School Drinking Water

    The Roosevelt Union Free School District is committed to protecting the health and well-being of our students, teachers and staff. In compliance with the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) regulation titled Lead Testing in School Drinking Water (10 NYCRR Subpart 67-4), we recently performed an updated inventory of all water outlets in the school district and another round of sampling of all applicable water outlets. Attached are the results and letters.

  • NYS 3-8 State Assessments

    If you wish for your child to participate in the exams, and they are currently attending school remotely, we ask that you contact your child’s teacher, no later than Monday, April 12, 2021, so that building administrative teams can safely and appropriately plan for all students on the indicated dates. ~ Si desea que su hijo participe en los exámenes, y actualmente asisten a la escuela de forma remota, le pedimos que se comunique con el maestro de su hijo, a más tardar el lunes 12 de abril del 2021, para que los equipos administrativos puedan planificar de manera segura y apropiada para todos los estudiantes en las fechas indicadas.

  • NYSESLAT Testing Information

    While schools are not expected to bring students into the building to participate in testing if the students are receiving entirely remote instruction during the testing window, the schedule is shared to ascertain parent’s interest in having their child(ren) come to school to participate in testing. ~ Aunque no se espera que los estudiantes lleguen a los edificios para participar en las pruebas si los estudiantes están recibiendo instrucción totalmente remota durante el tiempo de pruebas, el calendario se comparte para determinar el interés de los padres en que sus hijos acudan a la escuela para participar en las pruebas.

  • Zero Gas Reading

    Out of an abundance of caution, the District contacted National Grid, Nassau County Fire Department, and Summit Services to inspect the areas of concern in the Middle School. It was concluded that there was a zero reading of gas.

Through the thoughtful work of District administrators, program directors and staff, the process is a collaborative effort that results in the thorough examination of our educational programs and practices as well as the operations and infrastructure of the District. In addition, input is received from those in attendance at Board meetings who offer recommendations, and from those who write to the Board.

  • UPK RFP

    The Roosevelt Union Free School District requires (a) collaborative Agency(ies) to provide three- and four- year-old children with universal opportunity to access pre-kindergarten programs. An eligible agency shall be a provider of child care and early education, a daycare provider, an early childhood program or center or community-based organization including, but not limited to, approved preschool special education program, Head Start, nursery schools, libraries, and museums which meet the standards and requirements of this Subpart.
