  • Happy Father's Day

    June 17, 2022 To the Roosevelt Staff and Community: I, along with the Roosevelt School District Board of Education, would like to take this opportunity to wish all of the fathers and father figures in our community a healthy and happy Father's Day. Although Father's Day only occurs once a year, I encourage all to recognize the integral role the fathers of our community play in molding our scholars into the visionaries of tomorrow.

  • Centennial Avenue Students Create their own Student Treasure Books

    Centennial Avenue students had the opportunity to participate in the Student Treasure Writing experience! The children participated in the writing process from start to finish with their teachers either by completing a class book or an individual book. The process promotes children's creativity and builds upon their reading and writing skills as they either work collaboratively or individually. Every child deserves to experience the excitement of becoming a published author!

  • National Signing Day at Roosevelt High School

    Congratulations to Roosevelt Seniors who signed with their respective colleges on Friday to continue their athletic careers. Chelsea Martinez, joined by girls soccer coach Jeff Litwin, committed to Five Towns College. Jashir Gayle, joined by football coach Joe Vito, committed to Western Connecticut State University. Zavier Garrell, also joined by football coach Joe Vito, committed to SUNY Brockport. Kevin Arriaza, joined by wrestling coach Ben Syers, committed to SUNY Oswego.

    Don Crummell may not be unique, but he is one of a precious few high school coaches who has guided both boys' and girls' teams to Nassau County Championships.

  • Roosevelt Community has its own Little Free Library

    Roosevelt was added to the international network of Little Free Library. The new Little Free Library was added in front of Washington Rose Elementary School and was dedicated to Twana Hobbs- Stanley! Our Little Free Library was built by kids for kids!

    To the Roosevelt community, It is indeed an honor to take this time to thank everyone in the District and surrounding community for such a successful school year thus far. Since the start of the school year, academic and extracurricular achievement has been our focus, and I would expect nothing less from a District teeming with unparalleled talent and capacity. As we head into our spring break, I, along with our Board of Education, would like to wish everyone a peaceful and restorative week off.     After years of hard work, they earned their All-County Jackets. On top of that, Kevin Arriaza earned a Nassau County Wrestling Coaches Association scholarship award and Anthony Villalobos earned the Dr Ruotolo/Tony Mara Scholarship award! Congratulations gentlemen!

    Choice for All is honoring two members of the Roosevelt Union Free School District community as Education champions. Ms. Rochelle Gooding, the Community Service Information Assistant and McKinney- Vento Liaison, and Ms. Angela Hudson, Principal of Ulysses Byas Elementary School, are being recognized for their outstanding work in ensuring that all students are healthy, safe, supported, and challenged!   • Roosevelt Alumni Ty Grace, Head Coach of Howard University Women's Basketball Team, is going to the NCAA Tournament

    Ty Grace, former Roosevelt women's basketball player, has led her team as the head coach at Howard University as the MEAC 2022 Women's Champion and is taking her team to the Women's 2022 Division I tournament. They will be playing this Wednesday night on ESPN at 7 pm. Roosevelt Rising!

    "I wanted to create something impactful, to be able to inspire others to thrive from their talents," she said, noting that formal fine-art training is not a prerequisite for becoming involved with her company. In addition to Saint-Cyr’s own full-time staff and contracted muralists, her clients’ employees, students and even passersby are regularly recruited to help with the realization of the studio’s wall-to-wall visions.

  • Varsity Wrestling Team found Success at the Nassau County Championships

    Congratulations to our Boys Wrestling team for their extraordinary success this weekend. Kevin Arriaza finished 2nd in the Nassau County Championships and will compete in the NYS Championships at the Albany Times Arena next week. Anthony Villalobos finished 5th overall in the Nassau County Championships to earn All County. The team finished the season ranked 18th in Nassau County
