    Arlise Carson will oversee Roosevelt’s initiative to become a data-driven district ROOSEVELT, NEW YORK (SEPTEMBER 2022) — The Roosevelt Union Free School District is excited to announce the appointment of Arlise Carson as the District’s new Assistant Superintendent of Data, Attendance, Assessment, and Registration. Mrs. Carson most recently served as the District’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction and has established a reputation for success and achievement within the District.

    ROOSEVELT, NEW YORK (JULY 2022) — The Roosevelt Union Free School District is excited to welcome Gary Gentles as the District’s assistant superintendent of business and operations. Mr. Gentles has an extensive and versatile background as an administrator and leader who has a reputation for upgrading and strengthening the financial well-being of the districts he has previously worked in. In his new role, Mr. Gentles will report directly to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Deborah L. Wortham and be responsible for the financial operations of the District.

    Centennial Avenue Students Create their own Student Treasure Books

    Centennial Avenue students had the opportunity to participate in the Student Treasure Writing experience! The children participated in the writing process from start to finish with their teachers either by completing a class book or an individual book. The process promotes children's creativity and builds upon their reading and writing skills as they either work collaboratively or individually. Every child deserves to experience the excitement of becoming a published author!

    Congratulations to Roosevelt Seniors who signed with their respective colleges on Friday to continue their athletic careers. Chelsea Martinez, joined by girls soccer coach Jeff Litwin, committed to Five Towns College. Jashir Gayle, joined by football coach Joe Vito, committed to Western Connecticut State University. Zavier Garrell, also joined by football coach Joe Vito, committed to SUNY Brockport. Kevin Arriaza, joined by wrestling coach Ben Syers, committed to SUNY Oswego.

    Roosevelt was added to the international network of Little Free Library. The new Little Free Library was added in front of Washington Rose Elementary School and was dedicated to Twana Hobbs- Stanley! Our Little Free Library was built by kids for kids!
