Welcome Back Letter

Dear Roosevelt Family,

Our instructional plans are complete, our teachers are readying their classrooms, and our doors are about to open for the start of the 2022-2023 school year!

The start of a new school year brings excitement as we all contemplate what the new academic year has in store for us. However, one thing remains steadfast; the Roosevelt School District is committed to creating spaces in which meaningful learning and personal growth will occur. For those new to our District, whether as a student, staff member, teacher, or family member, now that you have joined the Roosevelt School District, you will forever be considered a member of this incredible and diverse family. We are excited to be part of the work and achievements you are sure to attain during your time with us. Our students, staff, faculty, and family members all serve a unique and necessary purpose within the District, without which Roosevelt would not be "Rising" as it is today!

Our mission and vision as a collective and united school District have never been more evident. We are committed to providing our students with the scholastic, extracurricular, and emotionally enriching experiences necessary to help them reach their full potential. We will continue championing our efforts and ensuring they mirror our commitment to these fundamental learning elements.

As COVID-19 continues to evolve and the severity of cases ebbs and flows, the Roosevelt School District will continue to implement health and safety measures in line with CDC and New York State and Nassau County Department of Health guidance. An engaging and prosperous learning environment is only achievable when a safe and healthy environment for all in attendance is established first. The Roosevelt School District will make all decisions with this core belief top of mind.

The goal of the Roosevelt School District has always been to supply our students with the tools they need to feel empowered, proficient, and globally ready. This guiding principle is at the heart of all that we do. Our efforts have yielded results beyond expectations, even as a global pandemic presented numerous challenges. We hope to build that momentum in the 2022-2023 academic year. We cannot wait to support our students and cheer them on as they continue to rise to new heights this school year.

As a reminder, we are a uniform school District. All students must wear their school uniforms daily, starting with the first day of school, September 1, 2022.
