The Roosevelt Union Free School District is proud to announce that we have been named a 2025 National School Boards Association (NSBA) Silver Magna Award winner!
This national recognition honors the Roosevelt Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Shawn Wightman for their leadership in launching the Black History 365 and Latin History 365 programs. These culturally responsive courses allow students to see themselves reflected in the curriculum and deepen their connection to history.
This marks the second consecutive year Roosevelt has received a Magna Award, highlighting the district’s continued commitment to equity, innovation, and student success.
