🌟 ROOSEVELT STUDENTS: LEAD. CONNECT. MAKE A DIFFERENCE. 🌟
Roosevelt High School students have an exciting opportunity to join young leaders from across Long Island at the 2026 Long Island Leaders of Tomorrow Conference!
Presented by ERASE Racism in partnership with Nassau BOCES, Eastern Suffolk BOCES, and Western Suffolk BOCES, this student-led conference will bring together more than 200 students from across Nassau and Suffolk Counties for a powerful day of leadership, civic engagement, connection, and student empowerment.
📅 Nassau County Conference
Friday, November 20, 2026
⏰ 8:30 AM–2:00 PM
📍 Hofstra University | Hempstead, NY
Students will have the opportunity to connect with peers from other school districts, participate in meaningful conversations about racial equity and issues affecting Long Island, strengthen their leadership and civic engagement skills, and collaborate on ideas for creating positive change in their schools and communities.
Even better, participation supports students working toward the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness—making this an excellent opportunity to turn student voice into meaningful civic action. The conference flyer specifically highlights its support for both Portrait of a Graduate competencies and the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness.
At Roosevelt, we want our students to be more than participants in their communities—we want them to become informed, courageous, empowered leaders who are prepared to shape the future.
💡 Your voice matters.
🤝 Your leadership matters.
🌎 Your ideas can create change.
Interested students and families are encouraged to learn more and register through ERASE Racism. The conference flyer describes the event as an opportunity for open, honest, collaborative discussions and activities focused on social justice and student empowerment across Long Island.
