💙💛🏆 A ROOSEVELT LEGEND TAKES HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE IN HISTORY!
CONGRATULATIONS, ALVIN PEARMAN!
The Roosevelt Union Free School District proudly celebrates one of our own, Mr. Alvin Pearman, who was inducted into the 2026 Nassau County High School Athletics Hall of Fame on October 7, 2026!
Long before today's Rough Riders took the field, Alvin Pearman was setting the standard for athletic excellence at Roosevelt High School.
A true pioneer and extraordinary two-sport athlete, Mr. Pearman became Roosevelt's first All-Long Island football player, rushing for more than 1,300 yards in just eight games during his senior season!
His greatness extended well beyond the football field. An exceptional track and field athlete, he captured the 1966 New York State Decathlon Championship, setting a high school senior record that stood for an incredible 60 years!
He continued his remarkable athletic journey at Colgate University, excelling in football and track before being drafted by the NFL's Baltimore Colts.
But perhaps his greatest legacy is not simply the records he established or the championships he won. It is the example he continues to set for generations of young athletes through his dedication to coaching, mentorship, and service.
Mr. Pearman represents the very best of Roosevelt: excellence, determination, perseverance, and an enduring commitment to lifting others.
His induction reminds us that Roosevelt has a rich history of greatness—and that our students today walk the same halls as legends who came before them.
On behalf of the Roosevelt Board of Education, our students, staff, and entire school community, congratulations, Mr. Alvin Pearman, on this well-deserved and historic honor!
Once a Rough Rider, Always a Rough Rider! 💙💛🐎
