Dear Roosevelt Union Free School District Community,
Subsequent to my message earlier today, Liberty Utilities, the water provider for the Roosevelt community, lifted its boil water advisory. In the statement posted on its website (libertyutilities.com), Liberty Utilities recommends that all residents flush every faucet in their home for three to five minutes, and all health care facilities, commercial buildings, apartment buildings, multiple story buildings, etc., flush every faucet for a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes.
As I noted in my earlier message, the District will be flushing all faucets, and we will do this for the recommended 10 to 15 minutes. In an abundance of caution, our food services team will still be adjusting Monday’s (tomorrow) menu to items that do not require water for preparation, and they will boil water for use in washing dishes tomorrow. As mentioned, all active water fountains in our District are equipped with filtration systems, but please feel free to send your children to school with bottled water if that is what you would prefer for tomorrow.
On Tuesday, all our food services procedures and menu preparations will return to normal.

Water Issue
Dear Roosevelt Union Free School District,
In response to the recent water main break affecting the Roosevelt area, we would like to provide the following updates to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff:
- We have confirmed that there is ample water flow in each building.
- Our custodial staff is diligently working in each building to flush the system and run sinks to ensure no stagnant water remains in the pipes.
- As a precaution, our food services team has adjusted Monday’s menu to items that do not require water. They will also boil water for use in washing dishes.
As a result of these measures, all our buildings are safe for occupancy. If there are any changes, we will promptly notify you.
Please enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Roosevelt Rising,
Dr. Deborah L. Wortham
Superintendent
