Students Show Pride With Their Peers Ahead of Homecoming Weekend

ROOSEVELT, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2025)—The Roosevelt School District set the tone for an exciting Homecoming weekend with a high-energy pep rally on Friday, October 10, celebrating the theme “Around the World.” The event brought together students, staff, and community members in a colorful celebration of culture, school spirit, and achievement.

Students and faculty embraced the global theme by donning attire and carrying flags that proudly represented their diverse heritages and backgrounds, turning the event into a dynamic and inclusive cultural showcase.

Highlights of the rally included a joyous performance by the Roosevelt High School Marching Band and a spirited routine from the Cheer team that had the crowd on its feet. The event also included a spirited and lively dance battle between MC Nicia Warren and the beloved Rough Rider mascot, drawing cheers and laughter from the stands.

Roosevelt’s athletic teams and academic all-stars were honored on the field, receiving well-deserved recognition from their peers for their hard work and accomplishments. The celebration also featured the official crowning of the 2025 Roosevelt High School Homecoming Court.

The event also included the crowning of the Roosevelt High School Homecoming Court, which included ninth-grade students Zihir Sinclair and Adara Benjamin, sophomores Keith Boykin and Madison Taylor, juniors Jeremy Acosta and Paige Williams, senior football sweethearts Amerrai Denny and Aniyla Kaine and this year’s Homecoming King Christopher Pereira and Queen Krisangley Torres.

The pep rally marks the beginning of a weekend full of Homecoming festivities, uniting the Roosevelt community in pride, tradition, and celebration.
