reading week

From November 17 to 21, Ulysses Byas Elementary School proudly celebrated Thankful for Reading Week, a vibrant literacy event that brought together families, community partners, and supporters from across Roosevelt. Throughout the week, guest readers filled our classrooms with laughter, curiosity, and the joy of storytelling as they shared books with our young scholars.

We extend a heartfelt thank-you to all community members and families who volunteered their time to read with our students. Your presence not only enriched their learning but also strengthened the home–school connection that is so vital to student success.

A special shout-out goes to the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for showing up with pride, energy, and commitment. Your service and involvement made an unforgettable impact on our scholars.

Thank you for helping us make this week a meaningful and memorable experience.

At UB, we are Empowered, Proficient, and Growing Together one story at a time.
